Spring has Finally Sprung
We are finally beginning to enjoy some actual Spring weather. This is much appreciated after the long and trying Winter we have had. When I see the grass greening and trees and flowers budding and beginning to bloom it puts me in a good mood. But, it also reminds me of the amazing chain of events that have put us here on our planet, Earth.
Celebrating Earth Day
April 22nd is not only my nieces birthday, it is the day that we celebrate our planet. The movement referred to as Earth Day began in the USA in 1970. It continued to become a global movement in 1990, after 20 years. Visit the earthday.org website for a detailed history. Some significant things have been a result of the Earth Day movement including:
- United States Environmental Protection Agency
- Clean Air Act
- Clean Water Act
- Endangered Species Act
